Second seed Anders Antonsen staged a dramatic turnaround against India’s H.S. Prannoy, saving three match points before sealing victory 23-21 in the deciding game.
After the match, Antonsen reflected on how he managed to stay alive in the closing moments: “Somehow I managed to stay in it, and played a few good points, got the luck. It is so much about luck in the end, where small things make the difference… I was out of this tournament, but now I am totally back again.”
And Antonsen truly is back, tomorrow he will face France’s Toma Popov in what promises to be a highly anticipated encounter inside the Adidas Arena. Antonsen leads their head-to-head 10–0, though several of those contests have been extremely close. Fans can likely expect another thrilling battle when the two meet again.
