Jesper Toft/Amalie Magelund are through to the semifinals of the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2026, securing the best World Tour result of their partnership.

The Danes overcame a dramatic three-game match against Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Supissara Paewsampran (21-12, 8-21, 21-19) in a match that went back and forth between the pairs before a tense ending to the decider.

“We are crazy happy,” said Magelund. “There were ups and downs, but we kept it together, especially in the third set.”

The result sends Toft/Magelund into their first Super 1000 semifinal and guarantees a medal at the highest level.  “To produce a semifinal in a Super 1000 is huge for us,” added Toft.

They will face Jiang Zhen Bang/Wei Ya Xin next. The Danes will aim to do everything they can with momentum on their side.
