Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Bøje in mixed doubles and Anders Antonsen in men's singles were not only the sole carriers of the Danish flag in Korea but also of the European banner, being the only Europeans left in the tournament heading into the round of 16.

Christiansen/Bøje continue their comeback
The first to head to the courts in Korea was the mixed doubles pair of Christiansen/Bøje. Their comeback has been impressive. Fresh off a Super 100 victory at the WONDR by BNI Indonesia Masters I 2025, they have also defeated the world’s top pair Jiang Zhen Bang/Huang Dong Ping at the World Championships and lifted the Macau Open trophy.

Today they faced the eighth-seeded pair Jafar Hidayatullah/Elisha Pasaribu, who pushed them for 1 hour and 20 minutes. The first game was an extremely close affair, with both pairs trading the lead. The Danes earned a game point at 20-19 but could not convert, losing the opener 22-24. After the back-and-forth start, the Danes settled into the match. They led throughout the second game, only briefly falling behind at 17-18 before regaining control to take it 21-19.

The third game started evenly, with the Indonesians close behind at 15-13 at the interval. From there, however, the Danes broke away to close out the match 21-14, securing themselves a quarterfinal at their first Super 500 tournament since their comeback earlier this year.

Here they meet the Malaysian pair Wong Tien Ci/Lim Ciew Sien, who are in their first quarterfinal this year, in what looks to be a favorable matchup for the Danes.

Anders Antonsen:
Antonsen looked abseloutely sharp and in control in his match, never losing a step despite a concerted effort by Justin Hoh in their first encounter. Hoh responded with great smashes, which in turn gave difficulties for Antonsen, but the Dane remained compsed and took the first game 21-17. Antonsen was even more in control in the second, and the final score reflected that, where he secured a 21-11 victory in just 41 minutes total.

Tomorrow he faces either Japan's Kodai Naraoka or Chinese Taipei's Su Li Yang
