The match between the two reigning World Championships bronze medallists saw Anders Antonsen advance to the quarterfinals of the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2026.

The third seed defeated Canada’s Victor Lai in straight games, 21-16 21-15, in a match that had some close moments but where Antonsen ultimately managed to take control, securing a solid win.

Antonsen, champion in Kuala Lumpur in 2024 and runner-up in 2025, is now one step closer to another podium finish at a Super 1000 level.
