The first round of the CLASH OF CLANS Arctic Open 2025 powered by YONEX is now over, and tomorrow all those who have advanced will fight for a spot in the quarterfinals – with many Europeans passing the test today, there will be plenty of chances.

Unfortunately, all home players bowed out today, including favourites Kalle Koljonen and Joakim Oldorff, but not without a fight. Other upsets include Toma Junior Popov’s defeat by unseeded India’s Tharun Mannepalli. Still, there were many wins to highlight.

Christo Popov, seeded third, is through and will face Denmark’s Rasmus Gemke tomorrow – a must-watch match of the day. Polish pair Paulina Cybulska/Kornelia Marczak delivered a great win against Ukraine’s Polina Buhrova/Yevheniia Kantemyr, continuing to build confidence on the tour. Éloi Adam/Léo Rossi and Scotland’s Christopher and Matthew Grimley treated us to a thrilling match, with the Frenchmen coming out on top.

There’s much to look forward to tomorrow. Matches begin at 10:00 EEST.
