5th seed Arnaud Merkle unfortunately saw himself defeated today in the PRINCESS SIRIVANNAVARI Thailand Masters 2026 Round of 16. He faced Indonesia’s Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah, ranked number 42 in the Men’s Singles rankings, 10 places above Merkle’s 32nd placement.
In other European news, Daniil Dubovenko lost to 2nd seed Alfi Farhan.
Remaining from Europe is 7th seed Julie Dawall Jakobsen, who faces Malaysia’s Wong Ling Ching. The two have never played each other, with Julie leading her opponent by four spots in the World Rankings. YONEX US Open winners Rasmus Espersen/Amalie Kudsk face Chinese Taipei’s Zhi-Wei He/Liang-Ching Sun, a recently formed pair without many matches to their names yet. Lastly, Ruben Garcia/Lucia Rodriguez face Indonesia’s Amri Syahnawi/Nita Violina Marwah, who are seeded 4th.
Overall, it looks to be tough prospects to overcome for the Europeans, but we look forward to seeing it.
