The YONEX Belgian International 2025 came to an end last Saturday, with mostly strong results for European players – and a great final for the home crowd in Leuven.

Nalbantova’s first title of the year
Kaloyana Nalbantova has secured her first title of the year in great style. After winning bronze at this same event last year, the Bulgarian player returned stronger, winning the women’s singles title in a three-game clash against Chinese Taipei’s Peng Yu Wei (21-8, 13-21, 21-12).

This was just one of the two titles for Bulgaria at the tournament, with Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva winning the women’s doubles gold.

Carraggi reaches yet another final at home
Julien Carraggi gave the home fans a lot to cheer for. The reigning champion reached the final again after many strong performances but fell short against Japan’s Minoru Koga, who added another title to his collection after last week’s win at the I FEEL SLOVENIA LI-NING Future Series.

A runner-up finish on home soil still marks another solid result for Carraggi just before he prepares for the upcoming European leg of the World Tour.

Danish double title in doubles
Rasmus Espersen/Amalie Cecilie Kudsk defended their mixed doubles title, improving their runner-up finish earlier in the summer at the Denmark Challenge.

In men’s doubles, Kristoffer Kolding/Calvin Lundsgaard came in strong by defeating fourth seeds Alexander Dunn/Adam Pringle to claim the title. The Danish pair, currently ranked 602 in the world, showed their power throughout the tournament.
