The biggest badminton stars head to Odense to compete at the VICTOR Denmark Open 2025.

Continuing the year's second European leg of the World Tour, we are now heading to the prestigious Super 750 Denmark Open. Expectations for Europe are high — coming off the recent Ben Lane/Sean Vendy triumph at the Arctic Open, we wonder what Europeans might conquer next. Defending champion Anders Antonsen and Odense native Viktor Axelsen are both facing tough draws in their opening matches: Antonsen will play against Anthony Ginting and Axelsen against Chou Tien Chen.

The big international stars such as Shi Yu Qi, An Se Young, and Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei are all playing on day one, joined by European stars such as the Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva in women’s doubles. We haven’t seen the sisters playing regularly on the World Tour for some time, as they’ve been keeping themselves busy on the European Circuit.

Biggest matchups
The standout matchups on day one featuring European players are:

Gregoria Tunjung vs Kirsty Gilmour — Can Kirsty beat the Indonesian for the first time in her career? It will be a tough hill to climb.

Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet vs Callum Hemming/Estelle Van Leeuwen — A first-time battle. The English pair have been improving their game recently, but the seventh-seeded duo from Hong Kong will use every skill in their arsenal to combat Hemming/Van Leeuwen.

Kim Won Ho/Seo Seung Jae vs William Kryger Boe/Christian Faust Kjær — Another long shot. The young Danish pair surprised everyone at the Thailand Open but were recently announced to be splitting up. Do they have one last triumph left in their career as a pair? If they do, it would be even more special, as they are facing the best men’s pair in the world. They will have to play perfectly — but as we know from experience, they always deliver an entertaining bout.

Stars like Viktor Axelsen and Anders Antonsen are set to play their first matches tomorrow.
