China has once again proven why they remain the powerhouse of team badminton, clinching their 14th Sudirman Cup title after a 3-1 victory over Korea in the final. This marks their 16th consecutive appearance in a Sudirman Cup final—an unparalleled run of consistency.

Crucial start in the mixed doubles
The final opened with a pivotal mixed doubles clash, where Seo Seung Jae/Chae Yu Jung took on Feng Yan Zhe/Huang Dong Ping. The match was filled with intensity and shifts in momentum. After a strong start by the Chinese, the Koreans rallied to force a deciding game.

“We had the chance to overtake them in the middle of the third game, but I made a service error and we lost the momentum,” said Chae. “I felt that even though we lost, we did our best, but because of the late game last night, my muscles were tight and I had to keep stretching.”

The service error in the decider proved to be the turning point, handing China the lead.

Redemption for An Se Young
In women’s singles, An Se Young was determined to make her mark after falling short in the previous year’s final. She delivered a composed and confident performance to earn a point for Korea, keeping them in the tie.

“Happy that I could win for the team,” said An Se Young. “This is my fourth Sudirman Cup, and finally I could win a match in the final. I was able to overcome the pressure. In a team event, the pressure is different from an individual tournament. So I’m happy that I overcame the difficulty.”

Shi Yu Qi dominant in men's singles
China hit back immediately in the men's singles, where Shi Yu Qi produced a masterclass, overpowering Jeon Hyeok Jin 21-5, 21-5. The commanding win put China within touching distance of the trophy.

Young duo close it out
The women’s doubles decider saw Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning rise to the occasion. The 21- and 22-year-olds showed maturity and poise as they defeated Baek Ha Na/Lee So Hee in straight games. The Korean pair had played a gruelling three-game semifinal the night before and showed signs of fatigue.

With that win, China sealed the tie 3-1 and lifted the Sudirman Cup once again.

A legacy unmatched
This title not only adds another chapter to China’s storied Sudirman Cup history but also reaffirms their strength across all five disciplines. With a deep and versatile squad, they remain the gold standard in world badminton.
