Decisive Sunday Ahead in European Men’s & Women’s Team Championships Qualification

This week, qualification is underway for next year’s European Men’s & Women’s Team Championships, with five places at stake in the men’s competition and six places available in the women’s competition.

Denmark, France and Turkey already have a spots in the men’s event, while Denmark and Turkey are already in the women’s event.

Yesterday, the first two teams booked their places to join them in the main event, with Estonia’s women and England’s men qualifying for the 2026 championships. Today, they were joined by the women’s teams of Bulgaria and Czechia.

This means that on Sunday, the final four places in the men’s competition and the final three places in the women’s competition will be decided.

Qualification is awarded to the winners of the five men’s groups and the six women’s groups, who will advance to the main tournament in Istanbul next year.
However, in Men’s Groups 3, 4 and 5, the format includes sub-groups of three nations each. The winners of these sub-groups will meet in a group final to determine who qualifies for Istanbul.

The winners of the men’s sub-groups are now known, and the following group finals will be played tomorrow:
In Group 3, Finland vs Austria.
In Group 4, Ireland vs Spain.
In Group 5, Azerbaijan vs Sweden.

In addition, the winner of Men’s Group 2 remains to be decided. This group consists of Germany, Belgium, Norway and Poland.

On the women’s side, the winners of Groups 2, 3 and 4 are still to be determined.
Group 2 includes Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Hungary and Belgium.
Group 3 includes France, Poland, Lithuania and Israel.
Group 4 includes Germany, Sweden, Iceland and Finland.
