Denmark and France Through as Group Stage Nears Conclusion
12/02/26 18:14

Four of Europe’s biggest badminton nations enjoyed a strong afternoon and evening in today’s late session, delivering convincing performances across the board.

Denmark defeated Finland 5–0,
France beat Sweden 5–0,
England overcame Spain 5–0,
and Germany secured a 4–1 victory against Türkiye.

With those results, pre-tournament favourites Denmark and France have both secured their places in the semifinals. However, several other nations are still battling for the remaining two spots.

Group 1

In Group 1, England, Spain, and Finland all still have a mathematical chance of reaching the semifinals, meaning everything will be decided in tomorrow’s final round of group matches.

England are in the strongest position. They face Finland, who have lost their first two ties. A win for England would guarantee them a semifinal place.

Spain, meanwhile, take on Denmark and will need a sensational victory to keep their hopes alive. If Denmark defeat Spain and Finland overcome England, the semifinal spot will be decided by the number of individual matches won across the group.

Group 2

In Group 2, the battle for the final semifinal place will be settled between Germany and Sweden. The two nations face each other in tomorrow’s late session, with the winner earning the right to join France in the semifinals.

All eyes now turn to the decisive final day of the group stage.
