The STATE Denmark Challenge presented by RSL has just started, and it’s not one you wanna miss. It's one of the top tournaments on the European Circuit. This international challenge event is streamed in full on Badmintoneurope.tv.
This week, alongside the YONEX Taipei Open on the BWF World Tour, Europe is hosting two Circuit events: the KAWASAKI Slovak Open (a Future Series tournament) and the STATE Denmark Challenge. Taking place at Farum Arena, just outside the Danish capital, the tournament has an international line-up, with players chasing success and important world ranking points at the Circuit’s top level.
The draws are packed with talent in this tournament hosted in Europe’s biggest badminton nation. Among the top seeds are familiar names from the Circuit, including Arnaud Merkle, Kaloyana Nalbantova, the Grimley brothers, Polina Buhrova/Yevheniia Kantemyr, and Callum Hemming/Estelle Van Leeuwen.
There’s also big home representation. Denmark will be aiming for titles on home soil, with players such as Mads Christophersen, Magnus Johannesen, Amalie Schulz, Signe Schulz/Amalie Cecilie Kudsk, and Kudsk again in mixed doubles with Rasmus Espersen.
The tournament is also a great opportunity for several players from the RSL BEC Centre of Excellence which is also based in Denmark. Competing in the qualification rounds are Marcus Kruse, Elena-Alexandra Diordiev, Dimitar Yanakiev, Mats Duwel, and Markus Barth. Safin Emran has already lost after a tough opener against Kim Bruun, while Richard Kuhl lost his match to Magnus Klinggaard.
Badminton Europe will be on-site from Friday, bringing you live updates and courtside content from Farum Arena. And of course, every match is available to watch live on Badmintoneurope.tv.
