Rasmus Espersen and Amalie Cecilie Kudsk each won two titles at the YONEX Czech Open 2025, while two Czech pairs climbed the podium with bronze medals.
Espersen and Andreas Søndergaard took the men’s doubles title, ending their run in the tournament with a solid performance against Japan’s Yuto Noda/Shunya Ota, 21-16 21-14. Jiří Král/Ondřej Král also reached the podium with bronze, with Ondřej adding another bronze in mixed doubles with Tereza Švábíková, a great result for the home pairs after facing tough opponents.
The mixed doubles title also went to Espersen, this time with Kudsk. “We have played some very good matches this week,” Espersen said about their run at the International Challenge event. The Danish pair defeated fellow Danes Calvin Lundsgaard/Signe Schulz in the final. “It was a good match, hard to play against good friends and colleagues so we are happy to get the win today,” Kudsk said.
Kudsk also won the women’s doubles title, partnered with Nataska P. Anthonisen. The pair defeated Swedes Malena Norrman/Tilda Sjoo, making it a second gold for Kudsk to seal a successful week.
In men’s singles, England’s Harry Huang finished runner-up to Indonesia’s Muhamad Yusuf – Huang’s third podium finish in the European Circuit this year. Joining him on the podium were Ade Resky Dwicahyo and Matthias Kicklitz, both sharing third place.
One of the standout matches of the finals was the women’s singles clash for the title. Bulgaria’s Kaloyana Nalbantova won against Denmark’s Amalie Schulz in the only three-game final of the day. “For me, it’s one of the craziest matches ever,” said Nalbantova. “It was crazy how I turned around the match. I cannot explain how I got calm but I’m crazy happy,” she said after winning the title.
