Day two is underway at the YONEX Estonian International 2026 in Tallinn, with the first round of the main draw bringing early twists in the women’s singles.

Home favourite and fifth seed Kirsten Kuuba was knocked out, losing to Audrey Chang of the United States, ending hopes for the local early in the draw. Attention then turned to court one, where Finland’s Nella Nyqvist claimed another notable victory by defeating fourth seed Petra Maixnerová in a tense three-game match.

Nyqvist came through 12-21 21-18 23-21, with both players holding match points before the 20-year-old Finn sealed the win. The result extends Nyqvist’s head-to-head record against Maixnerová to 4-0.

European U17 Champion Mady Sow surprised with a notable victory against Pan Am Junior Champion Garrett Tan from the United States who was seeded 6th. Sow got the win in three games 15-21 21-10 21-19 in a match where he was trailing behind before coming back in the second and third game.

Later on in day two, Denmark’s Christian Faust Kjær/Rasmus Kjær are set to compete in their first tournament of the year, as the new men’s doubles pairing look to collect important ranking points on their path back towards World Tour level.
