The second tournament of the 2026 season, the VICTOR Swedish Open 2026 hosted by PONG, took place last week and delivered several positive European results in a field featuring strong international competition.
For the second consecutive week, Denmark’s Mads Christophersen came up against Japan’s Minoru Koga. As in their previous encounter, it was Koga who emerged victorious, this time claiming a tight three-game win, 21-16 16-21 21-18.
In women’s doubles, the home favourites Malena Normann/Tilda Sjöö were halted in the semifinals, much to the disappointment of the Swedish crowd. The title instead went to Denmark’s Signe Schulz/Simona Pilgaard, who opened their 2026 campaign by claiming the women’s doubles title. It marked their second consecutive tournament victory, following their win at the Welsh International Open 2025.
The men’s doubles title was claimed by top seeds Oliver Butler/Samuel Jones, who battled through a three-game final to defeat Yu Hsiang Chou/Da Gu La Wai Bao Xin of Chinese Taipei.
Next week, the circuit continues with the RSL Iceland International 2026.
