Europe was represented in three semifinals at the YONEX Canada Open 2025, but none of the players managed to secure a place in the finals.

In many ways, the tournament showcased the depth and diversity of European talent. It was a rare opportunity to see several of these players progress deep into a BWF World Tour event. Heading into the semifinals, Amalie Schulz, Callum Hemming/Estelle Van Leeuwen, and Marvin Seidel/Thuc Nguyen had all overcome strong seeded opponents and looked ready to challenge for titles. However, the opposition proved too tough, and Europe had to settle for three bronze medals.

While the results fell short of expectations, reaching the semifinals at a Super 300 tournament is still a big step forward for all three entries. These are not players we often see on the World Tour’s final days, and their performances in Canada are promising signs for their continued development.

Winners of the YONEX Canada Open 2025:

  • Women’s Singles: Manami Suizu (Japan)

  • Men’s Singles: Kenta Nishimoto (Japan)

  • Women’s Doubles: Benyapa Aimsaard/Nuntakarn Aimsaard (Thailand)

  • Men’s Doubles: Lee Fang Chih/Lee Fang Jen (Chinese Taipei)

  • Mixed Doubles: Ruttanapak Oupthong/Jhenicha Sudjaipraparat (Thailand)
