Fresh off a hugely successful week at the Thailand Open, where Denmark’s Anders Antonsen and Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Bøje both claimed titles, attention now shifts to another major stop on the World Tour: the PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2026.
The Super 500 event features an incredibly stacked field across all five disciplines, with many of Europe’s top names taking on the world’s elite in Kuala Lumpur.
Men’s singles promises to be one of the most competitive draws of the week. World-class stars including Shi Yu Qi, Kunlavut Vitidsarn, Lakshya Sen and reigning Thailand Open champion Anders Antonsen headline the field.
Europe will also be strongly represented by the French trio of Christo Popov, Alex Lanier and Toma Junior Popov, coming in with great momentum after their silver medal at the Thomas & Uber Cup. Denmark’s Magnus Johannesen is directly in the main draw, while Ditlev Jæger Holm will play qualifications.
In women’s singles, Denmark once again leads the European charge. Line Christophersen enters as the fifth seed, while Line Kjærsfeldt is seeded eighth. Both will face a difficult field featuring former champions such as Chen Yu Fei, Ratchanok Intanon and Busanan Ongbamrungphan.
Further European interest comes from a broader field of European players with Polina Buhrova, Amalie Schulz, Yvonne Li and Kaloyana Nalbantova, all looking to make a statement in one of the strongest badminton capitals in the world.
Men’s doubles also offers several exciting European pairs. The Popov brothers, Christo Popov and Toma Junior Popov, arrive seeded seventh, while Denmark’s Mads Vestergaard and Daniel Lundgaard are seeded sixth, one spot ahead of the French. The Czech brothers Adam Král/Ondřej Král are in the main draw. Scotland’s Alexander Dunn/Adam Pringle will try to qualify to the main draw.
From a European perspective, women’s doubles includes several pairs looking to make their mark on the Super 500 stage. Polina Buhrova/Yevheniia Kantemyr, Bengisu Erçetin/Nazlıcan İnci, Ciara Torrance/Julie Macpherson and Lucía Rodríguez/Paula López are all set for action in the main draw.
In mixed doubles, all eyes from a European standpoint will be on Thailand Open champions Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Bøje. The Danish pair enter Malaysia as the fourth seeds after last week’s triumph, but it remains to be seen whether momentum or fatigue will define their week after several physically demanding matches in Thailand.
Also competing in the main draw are European bronze medallists Marvin Seidel and Thuc Nguyen, alongside Alexander Dunn/Julie Macpherson, Julien Maio/Léa Palermo, and Rubén García/Lucía Rodríguez.
With world-class opposition in every discipline and several Europeans arriving representing a broad field of European players, the PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2026 promises another exciting week on the international badminton calendar.
