A strong European showing continued at the PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2026 on quarterfinal day, with four European entries progressing to the semifinals in Kuala Lumpur.
Denmark enjoyed another excellent day in Malaysia as Line Kjærsfeldt secured her place in the women’s singles semifinals with a straight-games victory over India’s Malvika Bansod earlier in the day.
There was also success in the doubles events for the Danes. Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Bøje continued their strong run by defeating Wu Guan Xun/Lee Chia Hsin from Chinese Taipei in straight games to reach the mixed doubles semifinals.
In men’s doubles, Daniel Lundgaard and Mads Vestergaard produced one of the standout European performances of the day, overcoming Japanese second seeds Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi 21-18 21-14 to advance to the last four.
France also had reason to celebrate as Christo Popov booked his semifinal place in men’s singles.
There was disappointment, however, for fellow Frenchman Toma Junior Popov, who pushed China’s Li Shi Feng to three games before falling 21-18 15-21 21-5. Line Christophersen also saw her tournament end against Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon in the women’s singles quarterfinals.
