Exciting major events for 2026

After an exciting 2025 filled with memorable moments across Europe, we now turn our attention to an equally promising 2026. A packed calendar of major events awaits, with top-level competition across all age groups.

2026 European Men’s and Women’s Team Championships (1st–15th of February, Baku, Azerbaijan)
The year begins with one of the highlights of the calendar, as the 2026 European Men’s and Women’s Team Championships take place in Baku, Azerbaijan. With eight men’s teams and eight women’s teams already qualified and drawn into their respective groups, the stage is set for an intense battle for European team glory.

2026 European Championships (7th–12th of April, Huelva, Spain)
From the 7th to the 12th of April, the European Championships head to Huelva, Spain. Having successfully hosted the 2024 European Junior Championships and the 2025 European U17 Championships, Spain is now ready to welcome Europe’s very best players. Expect the continent’s biggest stars — and perhaps a few familiar faces returning to the big stage.

2026 European Junior Team Championships and European Junior Championships (18th–27th of August, Tatabánya, Hungary)
Later in the summer, the future of European badminton takes centre stage in Tatabánya, Hungary. The European Junior Team Championships will be held from the 18th to the 22nd of August, followed immediately by the European Junior Championships from the 22nd to the 27th of August.

2026 European U15 Championships (7th–10th of October, Sotra, Norway)
The final major event of the year will see the European U15 Championships hosted in Sotra, Norway. Once again, Europe’s youngest talents will have the opportunity to make their first mark on the international stage.

2026 European Senior Championships (time and location to be confirmed)
Following a highly successful 2024 European Senior Championships in Belgium — the most well-attended senior event to date — anticipation is already building for the 2026 edition. Further details on dates and location will be announced in due time.

2027 European Mixed Team Championships qualification (December)
While looking ahead to 2026, attention will also briefly turn to 2027, as qualification for the European Mixed Team Championships takes place in December. The 2026 European Men’s and Women’s Team Championships in Azerbaijan will offer an early indication of what to expect when Europe’s top mixed teams compete for qualification.
