After only 9 months together, the German pair Seidel/Nguyen have already reached an important milestone in their partnership by claiming their first-ever win at a Super 1000 tournament.

The duo began playing together in May 2025, making their debut in the European Circuit Tour at the Luxembourg Open 2025, a tournament they went on to win. Since then, they have competed in nine additional tournaments, steadily climbing the rankings and earning their way into the some of the biggest tournaments on the world tour.

Today marked a special occasion, as they played their first match together at a Super 1000 tournament, which was also Thuc Nguyen’s first Super 1000 appearance of her career.

In the opening round, the Germans faced the world number 18 pair from Chinese Taipei, Yang Po-Hsuan and Hu Ling Feng. After losing the first game 21–18, Seidel/Nguyen found themselves trailing 15–11 in the second. However, they showed great composure and resilience, turning the momentum around to take the second game 21–19. They then dominated the decider, closing out the match convincingly with a 21–12 win in the third game.

In the second round, the German pair will face a tough challenge against the sixth-seeded Chinese duo Guo/Chen.
