Frederik Søgaard breaks with the danish naitonal training centrer as well as Badminton Denmark after 8 years of partnership

After the recently reported shake-up of the Men's Doubles pairs at Badminton Denmark breaking up Frederik Søgaard/Rasmus Kjær and William Kryger Boe/Christian Faust Kjær - Badminton Denmark just announced, in a press release, that Frederik Søgaard has ended the partnership with the organisation.

"I cannot see myself starting a new constellation at the national training center with everything that it would entails. This is why I have chosen to call it quits and see what else life has to offer.  I'm not stopping playing badminton, but it's the end of me being with Badminton Denmark and training at the national training center."

Players such as Viktor Axelsen, Mia Blichfeldt, and Anders Antonsen have all had a past with the danish national training centrer, after then going independent. Whether Søgaard plans to follow a similar route remains to be seen.

"We are saddened that Frederik has chosen to stop. He is a fantastic badminton player, but we naturally respect his decision and his considerations. From this point on we just wish him the best of luck in what the future will bring him. We also extend our gratitude for the many great years with him as part of the national team." Jens Meibom, the Elite and Sportschief at Badminton Denmark saidin the press release.

Future
Here at Badminton Europe, we would like to extend the same wishes of good luck to Frederik Søgaard in his future endeavours. We will report on any updates regarding whether he continues his career in international badminton.
