Following withdrawals from Guatemala’s Kevin Cordon and India’s Malvika Bansod, Denmark’s Rasmus Gemke and Julie Dawall Jakobsen have been allocated spots in the men’s and women’s singles draws at the upcoming TotalEnergies BWF 2025 World Championships.
This marks Gemke’s third and Dawall Jakobsen’s second appearance at the event, which will take place in Paris from Monday 25th to Sunday 31st August. With them, Denmark will now be represented by 14 players at this year’s edition.
The players’ reactions to Badminton Denmark:
“I’m super happy to be going to the World Championships. It’s a great experience to play at a World Championships—it’s what you dream of when you’re a little girl and fall in love with badminton. Everyone is in top form and ready to perform, which makes the World Championships something special. I hope to win one or two matches if the draw allows, and to reach a high level in my game.” – Julie Dawall Jakobsen
“It’s super cool that I’m going to the World Championships. Participating in the World Championships is always something very special. At the same time, it’s a huge motivational boost for me to be able to look forward to the event in four weeks and to be part of the preparations. I’m really looking forward to it.” – Rasmus Gemke
