The BWF Player of the Year Awards 2025 were announced during the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals Gala Dinner in Hangzhou, where Switzerland’s Ilaria Olgiati was crowned Women’s Para Badminton Player of the Year.

Olgiati received her award from BWF President Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul, closing an outstanding season for the Swiss player. Throughout the year, Olgiati delivered great performances and won several titles.

Among her highlights in 2025 were three gold medals at the VICTOR European Para Badminton Championships, where she won the title in Women’s Singles WH 2 as well as Women’s Doubles WH 1 – WH 2 and Mixed Doubles WH 1 – WH 2.

Reacting to the award, Olgiati said: “I’m feeling very happy and honoured to be amongst such unbelievable players. I’m so happy for Badminton Europe and Switzerland. I improved a lot in playing tough opponents and I trained a lot and that helped a lot.”
