Ben Lane/Sean Vendy continue Europe’s strong day at the PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2026 quarterfinals by securing their spot in the semifinals. This is their best result at a Super 1000 level.

The English pair, currently sitting as no.16 in the world ranking, won in straight games against Japan’s Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi, 22-20 21-19. Despite the Japanese duo’s lead in the head-to-head (5-1) coming into the match, Lane/Vendy delivered a great performance in this key match.

They won their first Super 500 title at the Arctic Open in October last year, the pair can now add a Super 1000 medal to their growing list of highlights. They will face either top seeds Kim Won Ho/Seo Seung Jae or Man Wei Chong/Kai Wun Tee in the semifinals.
