Just one step away from a podium finish, Rasmus Gemke has been knocked out of the TOYOTA Thailand Open 2025, losing to Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew, who had also eliminated Ireland’s Nhat Nguyen yesterday.
Gemke made a strong start, taking the first game 21-15 and showing early confidence against the eighth seed. However, Loh raised the level in the second, applying pressure with intensity and control. Gemke struggled to keep up, falling 12-21. In the decider, Loh maintained his momentum, and Gemke couldn’t break through, losing 11-21.
But there are still two Europeans in the competition, both from Denmark and playing later today:
- William Kryger Boe/Christian Faust Kjær face eighth seeds Fang-Chih Lee/Fang-Jen Lee from Chinese Taipei
- Anders Antonsen, seeded number two, meets Korea’s Jeon Hyeok Jin. Antonsen leads their head-to-head 3-1.
