The Para Badminton World Championships have just concluded in Manama, Bahrain. Seven days of world-class badminton showcased the very best para athletes our sport has to offer.
A total of 22 sets of medals were awarded — shared among athletes from five different continents. It is a clear reminder that although badminton is often dominated by Asia, it remains a global sport.
Many European para athletes were in action in Bahrain, and several players and nations are returning home with medals around their necks.
At the very highest level, Lucas Mazur will bring a gold medal back to France. The reigning Paralympic champion once again proved the strongest in men’s singles in the SL4 category.
In addition, European athletes secured an impressive collection of bronze medals:

- Man Kei To (Belgium) – Mixed Doubles – WH1–WH2
- Ilker Tuzcu (Türkiye) – Men’s Singles – SU5
- Jack Shephard (England) – Men’s Singles – SH6
- Thomas Jakobs / David Toupe (France) – Men’s Doubles – WH1–WH2
