Mia Blichfeldt has unfortunately been forced to withdraw from the European Championships, which begin tomorrow, Tuesday. Badminton Denmark announced the news on Monday morning.
Elite and Sports Director at Badminton Denmark, Jens Maibom, stated that Mia has pulled out of the European Championships due to a shoulder injury, which will require 8–12 weeks of rehabilitation for the Danish player.
With second-seeded Mia Blichfeldt out of the tournament, new opportunities arise in the lower half of the draw, where we find, among others, BEC Young Player of the Year Kaloyana Nalbantova and third-seeded Kirsty Gilmour, who now have a better chance of reaching the final.
We wish Mia Blichfeldt a speedy and full recovery.
