Neslihan Arin shines at home in Türkiye
Neslihan Arin excited the crowd as she pulled off an impressive victory in the Türkiye capital.
With her fourth tournament win of the year, Arin is wrapping up a successful season on the circuit — but winning at home must feel extra special.
In the semifinal, she faced Canada’s Wen Yu Zhang, who pushed Arin harder than anyone else throughout the week and was the only player to take a game off her. The battle between the two warriors lasted an hour and five minutes, ending 21-16 20-22 21-19 in favour of Neslihan Arin, who secured her place in the final.
In the title match, Arin delivered a confident and dominant performance against Japan’s Nanami Someya, who appeared to struggle with her movement. The Turkish star sealed the victory 21-7 21-4, triumphing in front of a jubilant home crowd celebrating every point with her.
Her compatriots Bengisu Ercetin/Nazlıcan Inci also reached the final but faced the formidable Stoeva sisters, whom they have yet to beat. Istanbul was no different, as the Bulgarian pair claimed another straight-games win, 21-11 21-19, securing back-to-back titles following their Al Ain Masters 2025 triumph last week.
In Men’s Singles, Harry Huang impressed once again, defeating Indonesia’s Muhammad Yusuf to add another strong result to his growing résumé.
In Mixed Doubles, India’s Hariharan Amsakarunan/Treesa Jolly took the title, while in Men’s Doubles, Hariharan Amsakarunan claimed his second gold of the event alongside M.R. Arjun.
