No more luck for Kuuba

The semi-final is the finish line for home crowd favourite Kristin Kuuba at Yonex Estonian International 2018.

In the semi-final Kristin Kuuba met the Danish youngster Michelle Skødstrup, who this week is playing her only third tournament abroad as a senior. The Dane won the semi-final 21-18 21-15 and is ready for her first senior final.

- I am so happy. My goal was to reach the quarter-final against Mitsova. I won that one, and now I won this against Kristin, so I am just very happy, the young Dane said.

In the final Skødstrup will face first seed Ksenia Polikarpova. The Russian born Israeli clinched a spot in the final beating France based Chinese Qi Xuefei 13-21 21-16 21-12.

Sweden vs France in men’s singles
World number 189 Jacob Nilsson didn’t struggle much in his semi-final against Henri Aarnio from Finland winning 21-15 21-16. After the game is was a very happy Swede who now can prepare for the final.

- This is by far my best international result ever. I expected a long match, but a two-game win is very very good for me, Nilsson says.

The men’s singles finals will be a match-up between Jacob Nilsson from Sweden and Lucas Claerbout from France. The winner of Turkey International 2017 and Morocco International 2017 won in straight games against Hermansah from Indonesia.
