We continue a busy month of stellar action on the European Circuit with the always great stop: the city of Sandefjord in southern Norway. The FZ FORZA Norwegian International 2025 kicks off tomorrow, Thursday 6 November.
The International Series tournament will be streamed on BadmintonEurope.tv, and once again presents a great line-up of players. You can check the full list and draws here.
Some successful players are back in action this week after strong results at the Hungarian International, including Mikkel Klinggaard/Nicoline Tang, mixed doubles runner-ups, and Agnes Korosi, who once again returns to Norway after finishing as runner-up here last year – and last week in Hungary. Other highlights include Kristin Kuuba, Tobias Kuenzi, and Robert Cybulski/Julia Piwowar – Cybulski having been a mixed doubles champion in 2022 with a different partner.
Some athletes from the neighbouring country didn’t want to miss the occasion. There will be a strong Swedish presence, with Malena Norrman/Tilda Sjoo (who have had great momentum on the circuit) Fiona Hallberg/Elin Öhling, Filip Karlborg/Tilda Sjoo, Martin Norrman/Malena Norrman, and fifth seed in women’s singles, Cecilia Wang.
And of course, the Norwegian players will be aiming at making the most of home advantage. Torjus Flaatten, now partnered with Jonas Østhassel, has previously been on the tournament’s podium with Vegard Rikheim. Østhassel, also runner-up last year in mixed doubles with Julie Abusdal, returns once more. Other top Norwegian names include Markus Barth/Mattias Xu, who could face second seeds Tobias Rønbøg/Mike Vestergaard in the second round, and of course, Markus Barth in men’s singles, who is seeded seventh in men’s singles. The RSL High Peformance Centre will have his opening match against Poland’s Maksymilian Danielak.
