The FZ FORZA Future Series Nouvelle-Aquitaine 2025 was a great event for European players, who delivered many standout performances.
One of the many highlights were the Spanish pairs who dominated the doubles. Daniel Franco/Rodrigo Sanjurjo won the men’s doubles title, while Nikol Carulla/Carmen Maria Jimenez took gold in women’s doubles. In that same discipline, Bulgaria’s Mihaela Chepisheva/Tsvetina Popivanova finished as runner-ups, earning their first podium finish of the year.
The women’s doubles podium also had the familiar faces of Kirsten de Wit/Meerte Loos, Netherlands, who secured bronze – their third time as a pair on a European Circuit podium this year. In fact, both went also on to have even more success in mixed doubles: Loos won the title with Andy Buijk, while de Wit finished third/fourth with Germany’s David Eckerlin.
In singles, Switzerland’s Dounia Pelupessy achieved a strong runner-up finish in women’s singles, while in men’s singles, Denmark had Jakob Houe and Ditlev Jaeger Holm – last week’s Italy Open champion – reaching the semifinals to share third/fourth place.

It was great to see so many European players reaching the podium with medals going to different countries. The European Elite Circuit will now take a break until September, but there’s still plenty of badminton action coming up from other tournaments. Stay tuned on all our platforms!
