Both Denmark and France have reached the quarterfinals of this year’s Thomas Cup. Following the live draw for the knockout stage, the two European nations now know their respective opponents.

In the top half of the draw, Denmark will face Thailand in the quarterfinals. Thailand were in the same group as France and defeated the French team 4–1 during the group stage. Should Denmark progress, they will meet either China or Malaysia in the semifinals.

In the bottom half, France have been drawn against Japan in what appears, on paper, to be a very evenly matched contest. The outcome is likely to be decided by form on the day and overall momentum. If France advance to the semifinals, they will face either the 2022 champions India or Chinese Taipei, who defeated Denmark 3–2 in the decisive Group C tie.

Both remaining European teams will be in action on Friday at 18:00 CET.

Before that, however, attention turns to the Danish women, who are the last European representatives in the Uber Cup. Denmark face Indonesia this evening at 18:00 CET in their quarterfinal.
