The 50th edition of the VICTOR FZ FORZA Hungarian International Championships concluded with a great day of semifinals and finals, closing off a strong week for many rising European talents.
Jakob Houe defended his men’s singles title, winning the tournament for the second year in a row. The Dane delivered strong performances throughout, including a tough three-game semifinal against France’s Enogat Roy but came through and kept his crown. The men’s singles podium also had two Austrians: Kai Niederhuber won silver, and Wolfgang Gnedt a bronze.
In women’s singles, Laura Fløj Thomsen won the title after a three-game win against home favourite and second seed Agnes Korosi. Their last match ended in a straight-game win for the Hungarian player, but this time the 23-year-old Dane turned the tables. It’s her second singles title on the European Circuit.
There was also success for Denmark in the doubles categories. Lærke Hvid/Anna Klausholm claimed the women’s doubles title after a solid win in the final against Sweden’s Fiona Hallberg and Elin Öhling, making it the second podium finish of the season for the Danes.
Klausholm won not one but two titles, the second one in mixed doubles partnered with Mads Andersson. In an all-Danish final, they defeated Mikkel Klinggaard/Nicoline Tang to close the event with yet another title for Denmark.
