With just two weeks to go, the seedings for both the team and individual events of the 2025 European U17 Championships have now been announced.
Young talents from all over the continent will soon head to Arrecife, Lanzarote, for this year’s edition of the European U17 Championships. The team event will mark its 20th edition, while the individual event returns for its 8th edition, promising a week full of great experiences and chances to shine for the rising stars.
Team event
The Championships kick off with the 2025 European U17 Team Championships, taking place from Saturday 29 November to Wednesday 3 December.
France enters as top seeds, showing strong growth in recent years. While they finished fifth to eighth in the last edition, this time they come in as top contenders for the title. Denmark, historically powerful at this event, are seeded second. Türkiye, who came close to claiming the trophy in 2023, are third seeds. Hosts Spain are seeded seventh.
The team draw will take place on Tuesday 18 November at 1PM (CET) and will be livestreamed on BadmintonEurope.tv.
Individual event
The 2025 European U17 Championships will take place right after, from Wednesday 3 to Sunday 7 December.
Among the players topping the seedings are France’s Mady Sow, runner-up at the 2024 European U15 Championships, and Belgium’s Lea Dauphinais, who was also on the podium in the same edition with a bronze medal. France’s Sow will partner with Rayan Benaissa in men’s doubles, where they are also top-seeded. From England, Shraddha Gopalakrishnan/Martha Ng, European U15 champions, enter as the top pair in the women’s doubles. In mixed doubles, Poland’s Szymon Gwiazda/Wiktoria Kaletka will also come in as top contenders.
The draw for the individual event will take place on Tuesday 25 November.
