The group stage draw for the BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2026 has been announced. Let’s take a look at how the European teams competing in Horsens next month have been placed.
Uber Cup
- Group A: China, India, Denmark, Ukraine
- Group B: Japan, Malaysia, Türkiye, South Africa
- Group C: Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Canada, Australia
- Group D: Korea, Thailand, Bulgaria, Spain
Five European teams will be competing in the Uber Cup: Bulgaria, Denmark, Spain, Türkiye, and Ukraine.
Hosts Denmark and Ukraine have been drawn together in Group A, which looks like a tough group. It also features China, the reigning champions who have won 16 titles, as well as India, a team that has not reached the semifinals in the past decade but is still a strong contender.
Bulgaria and Spain will also meet in the group stage, as both teams have been drawn in Group D. They will face Korea, a nation that often makes it out of the group stage into the knockout rounds, and Thailand, whose women’s team has become stronger since the 2010s.
Türkiye are the only European team not sharing a group with another European side. They will be in Group B, together with Malaysia, South Africa, and likely group favourites Japan.
Thomas Cup
- Group A: China, India, Canada, Australia
- Group B: Japan, Malaysia, England, Finland
- Group C: Chinese Taipei, Denmark, Korea, Sweden
- Group D: Indonesia, France, Thailand, Algeria
Five European teams will also compete in the Thomas Cup: Denmark, England, Finland, France, and Sweden.
England and Finland have been drawn together in Group B, where they will face Japan and Malaysia in what promises to be a tough challenge for the two European nations.
Group C features Denmark, Sweden, Chinese Taipei, and Korea. This group promises exciting matches from the get-go. France will compete in Group D with Indonesia, Thailand, and Algeria, another group that promises tough clashes.
The BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2026 will take place from Friday 24 April to Sunday 3 May in Horsens, Denmark, with the group stage taking place from 24 to 29 April.
