The PETRONAS Malaysia Open 2026 kicks off tomorrow, taking place Tuesday 6 to Sunday 11 January in Kuala Lumpu. This is the first tournament of the year in the BWF World Tour calendar, and we’re starting strong with a Super 1000 event.

Many of the big stars return to court after the holiday break, with a strong line-up of Europeans in the draw. Among them are Christo Popov, Anders Antonsen, Mia Blichfeldt, Kirsty Gilmour, Ben Lane/Sean Vendy, Polina Buhrova/Yevheniia Kantemyr, among others. There will be a big presence in mixed doubles with seven European pairs competing this week, including Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue and Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Bøje.
