Just two days after the Sudirman Cup, the BWF World Tour is back in full swing as usual with the YONEX Taipei Open 2025.

The Super 300 tournament, which started today, features just a few European players in the draw. Today’s a long day, with qualification rounds across all five disciplines, as well as with the first-round matches in mixed doubles. However, there are no European entries in either mixed doubles or women’s doubles this time.

Today’s qualification round was a tough one for Europe. Germany’s Miranda Wilson, Czechia’s Jan Louda, and Jiří Král/Ondřej Král all said goodbye to Taipei after first-round losses.

But there’s hope in the main draw tomorrow, with three European players in the spotlight – although none with an easy path.

In women’s singles, Neslihan Arin from Türkiye will face a difficult opening match against fourth seed Wen Chi Hsu, Chinese Taipei.

In men’s singles, Belgium’s Julien Carraggi has drawn one of the most challenging openers, facing home favourite and fourth seed Lin Chun-Yi. Meanwhile, Joakim Oldorff, Finland, will go up against Huang Ping-Hsien, also from Chinese Taipei. Oldorff is currently ranked nine spots higher than his opponent, but should he advance, he would likely face second seed Loh Kean Yew in the next round, a huge test.

The order of play for tomorrow has not yet been confirmed, but you can follow updates and check the schedule here.

All matches will be streamed live on BWF TV.
