Astrup/Rasmussen finish 3rd in China-dominated Malaysia Masters

The PERODUA Malaysia Masters 2025 has concluded with China taking four of the five titles and three silver medals. For Europe, it was Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen of Denmark who delivered the best result.

The Danish world number one pair reached the semifinal in men’s doubles, where they lost to Malaysia’s Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik in a close three-game battle: 19-21 21-17 15-21. Their number 

After the match, Rasmussen wrote on Instagram: “Amazing week here in Malaysia. Came to show WE ARE BACK.” They will be back this week for the KFF Singapore Badminton Open 2025 this week.

Historic all-Malaysian final & China domination
Malaysia saw an all-Malaysian men’s doubles final as Man Wei Chong/Tee Kai Wun defeated Chia/Soh 21-12 15-21 21-16 to claim the title.

  • Mixed doubles: Feng Yan Zhe/Huang Dong Ping (China) defeated Jiang Zhen Bang/Wei Ya Xin (China) – 17-21 21-14 21-16

  • Women’s singles: Wang Zhi Yi (China) defeated Han Yue (China) – 13-21 21-13 21-18

  • Men’s singles: Li Shi Feng (China) defeated Kidambi Srikanth (India) – 21-11 21-9

  • Women’s doubles: Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning (China) defeated Jia Yi Fan/Zhang Shu Xian (China) – 21-17 21-18
