The BWF World Tour continues with the next stop on the Asian leg: the KFF Singapore Badminton Open 2025, a Super 750 tournament starting tomorrow. After a Super 300 and two Super 500 events, the level gets higher this week with top international players, and Europe will also be well represented.

In men’s singles, we’ll see an all-European clash right away, with third seed Anders Antonsen facing Christo Popov in the first round. Another big opener features eighth seed Alex Lanier against Singapore’s favourite Loh Kean Yew.

With the way the draw is set, five of the six European men’s singles players could face each other again in the round of 16.

Europe will be represented in women’s singles by Line Kjærsfeldt, Polina Buhrova, and Kirsty Gilmour, and it won’t be an easy start for any of them. Buhrova faces fourth seed Akane Yamaguchi, and Gilmour will be playing against Ratchanok Intanon in the first round.

There are six European pairs in the men’s doubles draw, including top seeds Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, who could meet fellow Europeans Ben Lane/Sean Vendy in the round of 16 if both pairs advance.

In women’s doubles, Julie Macpherson/Ciara Torrance, Paulina Hankiewicz/Kornelia Marczak, and the Ukrainian duo Polina Buhrova/Yevheniia Kantemyr will be in Singapore this week.

Kantemyr will also be competing in mixed doubles alongside Oleksii Titov. Other European pairs include Mads Vestergaard/Christine Busch, eighth seeds Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue – who face a tough opener against Japan’s Yuta Watanabe/Misaki Matsutomo – as well as Alexander Dunn/Julie Macpherson and fifth seeds Jesper Toft/Amalie Magelund.
