The Future Series tournament ended on Saturday with European medal finishes in all five disciplines and with several standout performances, including a first senior title for Belgium’s Charles Fouyn.
In a closely contested men’s singles final that lasted over an hour, Fouyn defeated Sweden’s Muh Azahbru Kasra to secure gold. “This one feels particularly special. I’m overall happy and hungry for more!” the Belgian player shared on Instagram. The event saw a full European podium in men’s singles, with Joonas Korhonen from Finland and Dane Salomon Adam Thomasen taking bronze.
Croatia’s Jelena Buchberger won bronze in women’s singles, while Germany’s Eva Stommel/Aurelia Wulandoko also secured a podium spot in women’s doubles.
In men’s doubles, Polish pair Adrian Krawczyk/Szymon Slepecki clinched the title. But it was Serbia that emerged as the most decorated European nation of the event, winning three medals: two bronzes in men’s doubles and a gold in mixed doubles. Andrija Doder/Sergej Lukic and Viktor Petrovic/Mihajlo Tomic each reached the semifinals in men’s doubles, while Tomic and Andjela Vitman went on to win mixed doubles. The Serbian pair claimed their first title of the year after last winning in November at the Hungarian International.
